“As coordinator of the CIRCALGAE project, I was pleased to join the panel discussion and discuss our work on valorizing algae and other industrial by-products through circular and sustainable biorefinery approaches. I shared key insights from our multi-partner collaboration, focusing on how we are transforming biomass side streams into valuable ingredients for food, materials, and cosmetics. The discussion also touched on the main challenges we face, such as dealing with biomass variability, optimizing green extraction methods, and ensuring industrial relevance; and how we are turning these into opportunities for innovation and systemic change.”
