TAESAG & CIRCALGAE at the ASAS MIDWEST meeting

As part of the Circalgae project, TAESAG participated in The Midwest Section Meeting of the American Society of Animal Science was held from March 8 to 11, 2026, in Omaha, Nebraska, at the CHI Health Center Convention Center. 


This major scientific event brought together researchers, students, and industry professionals in animal science from across North America, fostering exchanges on livestock production, nutrition, and innovation.
The program included oral presentations, poster sessions, and specialized symposia, highlighting recent advances in areas such as swine nutrition, genomics, and economic modeling tools for animal production. 


Notably, the Irish research organization Teagasc participated in the conference, contributing to the international dimension of the event and sharing expertise in agricultural research and innovation. They gave a presentation about “effect of dietary inclusion of a Spirulina (Arthospira platensis) by product in post-weaning diets on pi growth to day 44 post-weaning, haemotology and selected intestinal gene expression”, emphasizing that this work was part of the CIRCALGAE project, giving it an international impact.


Overall, ASAS Midwest 2026 served as a key platform for advancing knowledge, strengthening partnerships, and promoting the future of animal science.
