7th General Assembly in Iceland

The CIRCALGAE partners recently gathered for a key project meeting, an occasion that reaffirmed the collaborative spirit and ambition driving this initiative. Hosted with the warm welcome of EMZ and Chalmers, the meeting brought together representatives from across Europe to take stock of ongoing progress and to prepare the path ahead.
From the very beginning of the day, the focus was clear: working together to unlock the full potential of algae as a cornerstone for the blue bioeconomy. CIRCALGAE stands as a unifying project, bringing together researchers, innovators, and industry actors with the shared vision of transforming underutilized seaweed and microalgae into sustainable, high-value products.

Throughout the sessions, each work package was reviewed in detail. Partners presented progress updates, discussed achievements and challenges, and engaged in constructive exchanges on how to maximize the project’s impact. These discussions not only allowed the consortium to align on the current status of the work but also created space to collectively shape the priorities for the next phases.

Equally important, the meeting provided the chance for partners to reconnect in person, reinforcing the bonds of collaboration that are essential to the project’s success. The dynamic exchanges and open dialogue once again highlighted the strength of bringing together such a diverse group of organizations, each contributing unique expertise to a common mission.
As the project moves forward, the consortium is united in its determination to ensure that CIRCALGAE continues to serve as a catalyst for innovation in algae valorization. The next steps identified during the meeting will guide upcoming actions, ensuring that the project not only advances its scientific and technical objectives but also delivers real impact for the bio-based economy in Europe.

This meeting was more than just a progress update: it was a reminder that CIRCALGAE is about building the future of algae, together.
